Deliverables

Deliverables bring progress, dates, forecast, and current staffing into one view for a Jira epic. Open Deliverables, choose an item, and use its Overview to see whether the known work is moving and when it may finish.

Read the outlook

The top of the Overview shows:

• progress counts for work that is To do, In progress, and Done;
• Target Date, taken from the epic’s Jira due date; and
• Projected Completion, a probability-based forecast for the currently known remaining work.

Projected Completion does not predict future scope additions. A low-confidence label means the available history is thin or the forecast had to use a broader reference. “Not enough history” and “beyond horizon” are explicit states rather than invented dates. When the Deliverable is Done, the actual completion date replaces the forecast.

Read Allocation

Allocation now reports the combined full-time-equivalent capacity on the Deliverable over the trailing two whole ISO weeks. It is a current staffing rate, not a cumulative investment total. Working schedules and time off affect each contributor’s available capacity.

The contributor panel shows active contributors first, with their current FTE and total active-work hours. Past contributors remain visible below the divider. The staffing trend shows weekly FTE and keeps zero-staffing weeks visible, making ramp-up, handoffs, and gaps easier to spot.

Read scope movement

The burnup compares total scope with completed work by week. A change in the total line means work was added or removed; the gap between total and completed is the known remaining scope. Use the Gantt Overview to compare Deliverable timing across the portfolio.

The Deliverable Overview does not show Effort, Labor Cost, or Active FTE headline metrics. Those concepts are not substitutes for Allocation: Allocation answers how much available capacity is on the Deliverable now.
